Ltd is believe to help the poor people of his own and surrounding villages improve their respective social economic status and well being, he also committed to environmental and social sustainability and make a difference.. !!

 

Electricity for Soloban

 

Dorjee Sherpa grew up in the Soloban, a rural village in Nepal about 60 km south of Mt Everest. In 2006 the Soloban villagers build this power plant to provide the initial electrification of their homes and school. The project was funded by the Burwen Education Foundation (BEF) in Mountain View, California. Engineering design and construction management was provided by MEC Consultancy, Ltd in Kathmandu. The villagers were led by Dorgee Sherpa in carrying in 44,000 lbs of materials & equipment from a distant airport and in building the facility. The BEF provided high level consultation.

 

This project is an example of successful bottom-up development in the third world. It was conceived in consultation with the village users and required an immense amount of their labor to make it a reality. This dedication created local ownership that insured the successful building of the plant and its maintenance over an extended period. It has greatly increased their quality of life.

Education for Soloban

 

Mr. Dorjee Sherpa also aware in the villager education, he wants to improve local education so as in the initiation of Dorjee Sherpa with the help of Burwen Education Foundation (BEF), California, he built School in his village Soloban with the name Buddhibikas Primary School , In the beginning this school start from 1 Class to 5 Class only.

 

And later demanding and increasing number of student now in 2010 this school is upgrade upto 8 Class and also add some new teacher with the new building and facilities.

 

He also donates educational materials all over the year and giving free full accommodation to the teacher of that school.
